Leica TCS SP5

The Leica TCS SP5 is equipped with 5 lasers giving 8 selectable lines: Blue diode 405nm, Argon ion 488nm, Green 561nm, Orange 594nm and Red 633nm. A wide range of fluorochromes can be excited simultaneously, or in sequence to reduce crosstalk caused by spectral overlap. It is suitable for living and fixed cell imaging and applications such as FRET and FRAP, but is most suitable for larger specimens such as whole mounts and thick tissue slices. It is controlled by the software LAS AF, a proprietary Leica software that requires training.
