Molecular Phenotyping Core

The Molecular Phenotyping Core supports research programmes at the MGU by providing microarray and proteomics technology and expertise. We contribute to the molecular characterisation of mouse mutant models and developmental pathways. We also make microarray technology available to academic scientists in the UK by providing an external service.
We offer a microarray hotel facility for training and collaborative microarray experiments.
We have Bioinformatics and Statistical Genomics groups on site that support our work.
We use SELDI-TOF technology for proteomics studies. This technology allows biomarker discovery, protein interaction analysis and protein identification by peptide mass fingerprinting.
The combination of microarray and proteomics tools will contribute to our efforts to understand the molecular basis of disease and basic molecular mechanisms.
