Cardiovascular Platform

We are studying the genetic mechanisms underlying cardiac malformations using a combination of mouse ENU mutagenesis and high-throughput magnetic resonance imaging. We are using the mouse as of all genetically tractable animal models it is the closest to the human in terms of cardiac anatomy, development, physiology and evolution. Our major goal is to identify novel genes controlling mammalian cardiac development.
