ES Cell Microinjection

Mutated ES cells can be obtained from a variety of sources. The cells are amplified and injected into 3.5-day old embryos (blastocysts). The resulting chimaeric animals contain a mixture of cells derived from the ES cells and the embryo used for injection.  Male chimaeric mice are mated to females to generate the mice with the engineered mutation.

Mutated ES cells can be obtained from a variety of sources. The cells are imported, amplified, QC'ed and converted into mice by injecting them into blastocysts.

  • PCR based MAP testing
  • Production of blastocysts and pseudo-pregnant females
  • Injection of ES cells into blastocysts
  • Uterine transfer of injected blastocysts to pseudo-pregnant foster mothers
  • Breeding for the establishment and maintenance of genetically modified mouse strains including tissue biopsies for identification of transgenic animals
