The clinical pathology team are able to perform a range of diagnostic tests on plasma, serum, urine and whole blood. Our state of the art analytical equipment is maintained to the highest standards and we follow stringent internal quality assurance protocols and participate in the UK National External Quality Assurance Scheme (NEQAS).

We offer the following diagnostic services:

Clinical Chemistry of plasma / serum & urine

We offer a wide range of clinical chemistry tests suitable for plasma, serum and urine samples, performed on board a Beckman Coulter AU680 clinical chemistry analyser. Our guidelines for sample collection, processing & shipment, as well as a list of available assays can be downloaded as PDF documents at the bottom of this page. Please consult with us prior to collecting your samples.

Haematology

We offer mouse-specific full blood count and differential analysis on board an Advia 2120 haematology analyser with multi-species software requiring only 200ul of EDTA whole blood.  Our guidelines for sample collection, processing and shipment, as well as a list of available assays, can be downloaded as PDF documents at the bottom of this page. Please consult with us prior to collecting your samples.

Flow Cytometry

We can measure extensive profiles of mouse-specific peripeheral white blood cells and splenocytes on board a 3 laser FACS Canto II flow cytometer. This facility is only available for in-house projects and high-throughput studies.

Immunoassays / ELISA's

We can source a wide range of mouse-specific kits. We offer plate-based assay services for high-throughput projects involving multiple plates only.

Multiplex Assays

We offer electrochemiluminescence on a MesoScale Discovery (MSD) Sector Imager (see list of commercially available assays here) and bead arrays on a Bioplex 200 analyser (see list of commercially available assays here). Plate-based assay service work is available for high-throughput projects involving multiple plates only.
