Introduction to Tissue Recognition and Mouse Pathology

This course covers how to recognise normal mouse tissues and common artefacts in H&E histological sections. It will also introduce basic pathology terminology and common background pathology in mice, and how pathology data can be recorded. It is aimed at research staff, technical staff, students and medical or veterinary pathology trainees.

Following the course, you will be able to:

  • Understand basic pathology terminology
  • Recognise basic pathological processes in tissue sections
  • Recognise common pathology in tissue sections in young and old mice and how they correlate to necropsy findings and clinical observations
