Lab Sustainability Day at MRC Harwell
A day of interactive training on lab sustainability that is fun and instantly applicable to your day to day activities! Training will cover energy awareness and carbon emissions, the interaction of lab cost factors, new technology, best practice, greenwashing and procurement.
This is an in person event, but you can express your interest to attend virtually.
The course is suitable for researchers, technical staff, procurement officers and building management. You’ll be happy to hear that it won’t be some mundane person reading out slide after slide (a.k.a. ‘death by PowerPoint’). There’s also prizes. Actual prizes, not a branded pen or mug but actual prizes! The course is led by Andy Evans from Green Light Laboratories, and UCL’s Martin Farley.
Since 2009 Andy has been breaking new ground in lab sustainability. Andy works with a wide range of lab operators based in the USA, UK and Europe. His company, Green Light Laboratories Ltd, offer a range of services to ensure that any lab can deliver significant running cost savings through all of their day to day activities through best practice, procurement, policy and training. Alongside these services Andy also collaborates with manufacturers & research organisations to assess current and new, disruptive technologies.
The training will provides a foundation/understanding for lab users which will support their pursuit of LEAF accreditation, delivered by the LEAF programme manager, Martin Farley. Martin has worked for nearly a decade in sustainable labs, and writes, speaks, and has helped drive green labs internationally.
We look forward to seeing you, please reserve your space using the ‘Book now’ button! We strongly encourage you to attend in person so to get the most out of the interactive sessions, however we will provide an option for delegates to join virtually if required.
